[A week without his voice in her ear would give her clarity. A week without him would put her in a better position to make her decision. She had no doubt in her mind that Jack would whisper whatever poison he could in order to manipulate her, so that she had no choice but to say yes.]
[But she also doubted he would take no for an answer. And at that moment, all she wanted was silence, however brief.]
