[It had been way too long since she'd spoken to Angel and honestly it was largely Cissnei's own fault. She'd been so caught up in tracking Walter down and making sure he was alright and then heading back to the islands with him in tow that she'd just put everything else on hold.
And she felt horrible because of it.
Being back on the islands allowed her to relax again and she finally started to reach out to everyone she hadn't heard from in awhile starting with the young woman in question. She's got her hair pulled back in a loose ponytail, sunglasses perched on her head as she sits on the beach with Reno flopped over her shoulder batting at a very displeased Jangmo-o in her lap.]
[Where the blame fell depended largely on who you talked to. While Cissnei might have felt that it was her fault, Angel hadn't made much of an effort either. The prospect of their eventual hike had lifted her mood for a time, but like most things in Angel's life, it hadn't lasted.
Still, seeing Cissnei's face brought back the slightest hint of that hopeful glimmer. The smile that crossed her lips, small as it might have been, was genuine.]
I'm here. [Unlike Cissnei, however, Angel was alone. The Pokemon that usually gathered around her seemed strangely absent.] It is good to see you, my friend.
Likewise. I'm sorry it's been so long since I contacted you--face to face, that is. Your Christmas gifts did arrive alright, didn't they?
[She had sent them by Pidgey mail and while she trusted Pokemon...one always had to worry. You never knew what sort of thing could come up to hinder the delivery from making it.]
I wanted to see how you were doing--and see if maybe you were interested in coming to the islands for a visit sometime.
[But again, the blame fell solely on her. She'd spent the bulk of December in a haze -- could hardly remember any given week, let alone what she'd discussed with people. It was a wonder she'd even remembered what Cissnei had sent her for the holiday, only finding at one point that the bracelets were settled on opposite wrists and her sweater packed away in her luggage.
If she was honest, Angel hadn't given them much thought, at least not after coming out of her stupor. It was only now that she truly recalled what the note had said. A faint smile crossed her lips as she held an adorned wrist up for Cissnei to see, hoping it might cover up the pink of her cheeks.]
I did get them -- sorry for not sending a thank you note. Last month was... chaotic, I would say. [She paused, then looked away a bit sheepishly.]
I was... actually there briefly, visiting some friends. I should have said something but it was... the first time I'd felt okay being around them. I didn't want to overstimulate myself. [Her gaze slipped from the screen and settled onto the floor, almost wincing as a hot ball of shame began to form in her stomach.]
But that doesn't mean I can't come back again. It is easier for me to access it now more than ever.
[Cissnei shook her head a bit though her expression was one of understanding.]
It's alright, Angel. It seemed like it was a pretty trying time for you.
[Whatever it was that was going on. She still didn't fully understand but that was okay. It wasn't something that she was going to pry for answers on; that wasn't how Cissnei was at least not anymore. At least not with people she considered her friend.
Her expression brightened at the sight of the bracelet.]
Don't worry about it. I'm just glad they made it alright! [And now a bit of worry appears.] Chaotic? Are you alright?
[Angel then goes on to mention being on the islands and while Cissnei does feel a bit..jealous in a way she's very quick to squash it down and keep it off her face, smiling instead as she tilts her head.]
That's understandable. It's a lot to take in down here. I'm actually on my second time traveling through and I'm still finding things I missed the first time around. I'd love to spend time with you, though, if you'd be up for paying a visit again. Only if you have the time, that is. I don't want to hinder any plans you may already have. We could always figure something else out if you coming here doesn't work.
[Angel lifted her hand, attempting to wave away Cissnei's concern.]
It is like you said, it was a very trying time. [Strength certainly wasn't Angel's strong suit, but she couldn't keep crumbling around this woman. She could only imagine the impression she was leaving.]
I... really do not have any plans. Visiting the island was a rather impulsive decision. I hadn't seen some of my friends, and I'd left them on a poor note.] [She paused to chew on her lip for a moment.] Next month, perhaps? We can set a date, and I will be there. I promise.
