[Angel's studied the woman's fingers, enthralled by what she would have called perfection. Her own nails were cut in some places and jagged in others. Unconsciously, she shifted them behind her back.]

Of course, I have it done every week. But I'm very particular about my nails.

Before I was completely human, they were different. More weapons and tools than just anatomical decoration. I can't bear to stand to see them ragged or unpolished and...flesh pink.
I suppose I don't really understand, but I can appreciate the sentiment.
[Back home, she wasn't allowed her own nail clippers, or anything that could have been used to aid her escape -- literal or metaphorical. Occasional medical visits had afforded her the occasional upkeep, but other than that, she relied on breakage and biting.]
There were seven of us, we each shared most characteristics, but each of us had our own unique gift. Mine was my talons. My nails could extend to great lengths, they were harder than diamond. The ultimate lance.

[Angel was inclined to think that it was a power far less likely to be abused, but knowing what little Lust had told her, she knew it was an inappropriate assumption to make. She had been able to surmise that both she and Lust had come from similar backgrounds.]

They were. I admit, there are things I miss about my former nature. There are aspects of human biology I will never grow comfortable with. But I think, overall, I prefer humanity. When another one of those odd weekends rolls around, I'll show them to you. I revert to my homunculus state for those days.
[Which is at this point simply jarring. Even when she knows that twice a year she's going to wake up ice cold and inhuman, it's still an unpleasant surprise when it happens.]
Hmm, it should be close enough to the weekend that the polish won't chip...alright. There's a place near the department store.
[Angel sucked on her lip, deep in thought for a moment. It seemed an intimate thing, showing off this creature Lust used to be. Perhaps not for the woman, but for the siren, it absolutely was.]

[She nodded to the woman, looking down at her disastrous nails once more. Hopefully the staff wouldn't be too judgmental. And that they wouldn't mind her taking notes.]
Everyone who's been here for one of those weekends has seen me in my former state. I'm difficult to miss, I'm even more acrobatic than normal. I like to practice my routines on the rooftops.
[She'd terrified poor Timothy with it, the last time. She's rather glad she's never done any parkouring in front of him - at least as a homunculus he has the assurance that she can't be hurt if she falls.]
[Perhaps she was a bit like Timothy in that respect -- panicking at the slightest chance of one of her loved ones being hurt. Certain as she was that somehow, Lust would be alright no matter what happened, it was still a troubling thought to have.]
Not particularly. My powers stopped working, and that was it. They... did not do much to alter my physiology.
