[Finally the Sylveon himself appeared, pouncing into what little room remained on Angel's lap. Ciri let out a slight protest, but seeing as how Adorababy quickly lathered him with attention, said protests quickly petered out.]
[At the commotion, the Pokemon sitting beside Anders peers up, and boy, is Pinsy's expression scathing. She's ashamed to share an animal kingdom with these flagrant attention hogs, even if the affectionate display heals Anders' wounds, cures his depression, and blesses his crops.]
I must say, I'm terribly jealous of the lot of you. [As if he doesn't have cuddly Pokemon too!!]
[It's a good thing Angel can't see Pinsy, lest she find herself accosted by affection from the siren. A pure soul such as herself couldn't possibly see the evil in such a beast.]
[Hey, now, Pinsy never said she doesn't want affection. She just isn't going to beg for it like some sort of desperate peasant. Even Anders is finally starting to get it, stroking her mane without making a big deal about it like he did when he was newer to Johto.]
I'm sure our paths will cross again soon enough. Hopefully under a bit more pleasant circumstances next time. [He loves Angel, and dancing, and buffets, but honestly, fuck "prom."]
I should hope so too. What is it that you're doing now?
[If she knew where she was, there was a better chance of being able to direct her friends in his direction. If he was even on a relatively similar path, of course.]
Right now, all I want is to give my Pokemon some time to rest. Afterward... I'm not certain.
I was considering going back to Olivine. [He liked it there. The beach was nice, and it was just crowded enough that he wouldn't feel quite as alone as he did on the Islands in the event he holed up for a few days at a time.]
Mmm, I am not sure. I have never drank before, and I would hate for you to have to deal with whatever disaster might follow.
[A few images of herself collapsed drunkenly on the ground and poor Anders struggling to care for her flitted across her mind. After a moment, she shuddered and attempted to shake away the thought.]
I suppose I wouldn't be quite as much help without my magic, but I do know some precautionary measures. Let me know if you want to try; I don't mind either way.
[It's early. Armin knows it is early, but he cannot really wait much longer.
He's still sleep-touseled and wearing his jammies, but there is not a trace of sleepiness in him. He's keeping his voice pitched low, but that is mostly so he won't be waking anyone else that might still be sleeping.]
Angel! Angel, I hope I'm not waking you up, but look.
[He presents his hands and there is a small, newly hatched Baile Oricorio sitting there, still blinking around slightly befuddled. There is a dark shaping moving behind Armin, Amadeus leaning in over his shoulder to hoot softly at his new daughter.]
[It had been nearly a year since her last day on Pandora, and while it had put her mind at ease, it hadn't blunted her instincts. The frantic beeping from her 'gear was not unlike the alerts that had roused her from her feverish naps in the control core. Upon hearing the noise, Angel jolted up, wide-awake or close to it.
The downside to her quick, instinctive reaction was that she was on high-alert. As she held her gear out, the panic on her face would be clear. When she spoke, there was a sense of urgency in her words.]
Armin, what's wr-- [She wasn't able to finish speaking before the little bird was presented to her. Her eyes went wide, chasing away those Pandoran ghosts that still haunted the girl.]
[The little Oricorio lets out a soft peep at the sound of a new voice, still adjust a bit to this new and loud world.
Armin's excitement tempers a little though. It had been impossible to miss the way her face had been awash with panic when she had first answered, and though it looks like the sight of the little bird had chased away most of it, It's not like Armin could just ignore it.]
I'm sorry. Are you all right? I shouldn't have called so early.
[Had she been having a bad dream? Armin knows a thing or two about those.]
No, no -- [Angel was quick to speak, to try and ease his concern. His efforts were appreciated, but they were unnecessary. It might not have been a life-threatening event, but this was still an important matter.]
I am glad you called. [Angel's voice softened all the more as she noted the creature's reaction.] It is so wonderful to see her. Bailey would no doubt be proud.
[He isn't entirely certain if she is fine, but he also won't press. He understands that there are some things that are just private. He wouldn't really like to be pressed to talk about his bad dreams either.]
I'm sure she would be. Amadeus is proud. He keeps checking on Jean's egg to see if it has hatched yet.
[An anxious and caring father who just wants to see all his babies!]
I hope it does soon. I would hate to rob Jean of even more parental responsibility.
[Somehow, the ball master had become a pretty effective parent. Much as he tried to play the role of aloof cool guy, it turned out that Jean was a rather tender individual. It wasn't something that surprised Angel anymore, but awhile back...
Of course, Jean wasn't the only one that had surprised her. Armin had also defied her initial assumptions too.]
[Had he simply been growing up, or was Angel getting to know him better? She wasn't sure she wanted to know the answer -- both were sweet enough thoughts in their own right.]
It's been shaking. Sometimes I think I even hear it peeping. [She had half of a mind to retrieve it, but the egg was bundled up in a pile of both Pokemon and blankets. It was warmer there than it would be with her.]
