I am on the whole! Though I ought to warn you that if you ever try Cecil's Aurora League gym, remember to read up on something called 'inverse battles' first. Trust me.
Ones where the type weaknesses are reversed, done in gyms that have been set up especially for them. A week ago, I did not know about them. I learned the hard way.
But speaking of gym challenges and pokemon journeys, I heard that Armin was giving you a special friend to take on yours. How do you like them?
[Armin and Angel are very cute together and he wishes them all the happiness.]
I can barely keep the weaknesses together in my head as it is! I don't think I could handle that. I don't even know how the Aurora League comes up with their concepts.
Oh! She's wonderful. It was so unexpected but... I'm glad I'll have a piece of home with me when I travel. I know I can come back easily enough but... I've spent so much time with Armin of late that I can hardly fathom being away from him.
Maybe they have secret meetings where they discuss how to make their gyms as difficult as possible. With brainstorming sessions and everything. "I'm going to restrict my battles to pokemon who can breathe under water!" "Yeah, well, I'm having them battle on top of a skyscraper and forcing them to take the stairs!"
I'm glad you like your new friend, Angel. And yeah, long distance can be hard. I've never particularly liked being on the road away from any of my boyfriends either. But you've got the pokegear at least and they can usually get a signal, even in the wilderness.
How are you doing for warps, by the way? Do you have the ones that you need to get to the gyms or are you going to have to take the journey on foot?
Do you think they give out quarterly prizes? Themes for how many people they can make quit in anger or frustration? I bet they do.
Oh, yes. I'm not too terribly worried about it. Armin has already made this journey after all, so we'll be able to see each other plenty in the cities. And besides, a little time away will only make us grow fonder of one another, right?
Mm, I have everything in the Johto region, but... very few regions marked off for Kanto, I think. But that's okay! A journey will do me plenty of good, and we're not going to handle that leg until we finish here in Johto.
I'm sure they do. And when I have a gym (pending, of course, beating the Elite Four) I plan to uphold the grand tradition of frustrating challengers. Paying it forward as it were.
(But yes, people do say that absence is supposed to make the heart grow fonder.)
By the time you're done with Johto the weather will likely be better too, so you won't be freezing in a tent. Winter's bad enough when you're not traveling through it.

:O
You're kind, Steven.
Thank you.
I hope you're well.

[He did not and it was very embarrassing.]
(And thank you. I try to be.)

[Steven, please. She barely knows how a regular battle works!]
