I'd very much like that, Angel.
rosehecate: (Not quite spicy enough)

[personal profile] rosehecate 2017-03-14 12:41 am (UTC)(link)
Oh my!
Is it really that easy?
:O

That is a surprised face, I think.
rosehecate: (Hi!)

[personal profile] rosehecate 2017-03-14 02:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh no, I am pretty sure this is the first one.

Then we're friends!

[If it was this easy in Ohtori it'd have been so simple to make Utena happy.]

Walter smiled shyly. Reed hopped onto the back of a vacant chair, only now paying attention to Angel's Pokemon and hooting at them.

He ate his cinnamon bun quietly, savouring the taste and remembering Rhys. He glanced up at Angel, thinking. He trusted her. But, how did he ask her what she thought of what had happened to him. He tore a small piece of the bun and offered it to Reed, who accepted it eagerly.

"Did you- I mean, what was...no. Nothing. Sorry." He mumbled, shyly ducking his head.

Reed looked SHOCKED that he would be told to shut up! He would've kicked up a royal fuss and drawn a lot of attention to himself and their table but thankfully Smoosh provided a distraction from Skagbait's faux pas. He leaned forward, flapping his wings once at Smoosh.

Walter swallowed and tried again. "What was your world like?" They had rarely spoken about their pasts but he wanted to try. After talking with others about their worlds and their experiences, he wanted to know about Angel.

[Sometime on the 14th, Angel is going to have a visitor. A visitor in the form of a large noctowl carrying a small package and an envelope.

Inside of the package there are three seashells: two smaller ones, obviously picked for their rich and beautiful colours and a larger one. There is a small note with them too: It’s amazing how many of these you can find on the beach. If you hold the large one to your ear it’s almost as if you can hear the actual ocean.

Inside of the envelope, there is a letter and four pictures.

The first is one of a beach, taken roughly around sunset. On the back, Armin has written: Eren let me borrow his camera to take these. Isn’t it incredible? I’m so glad I finally got to see it.

The second one is of a pod of wailords and wailmer swimming alongside a boat. The note on the back reads: They are even more amazing in real life!

The third picture shows four boys, grinning, squished together in the frame, all dressed in swimming trunks and matching flashy, colourful sunglasses. Armin and Jean are already looking a little lobster-red, Bertolt and Eren just have that healthy enviable tan going on. On the back: Even glasses are so cheap here.

The fourth picture is Jean, posing dramatically. It’s the sort of pose that screams #camerajustturnedon, #Imnotamodel. He’s wearing voltorb pattern swimming trunks. Did he find a shop that sells these monstrosities? Did he make them? Some questions are best left unanswered. On the back: Jean asked me to take this for some reason. He made me redo it six times. Sometimes I still don’t understand him.

And then there is the letter:]

Dear Angel,

Thank you again for your note on valentine. It’s the first time I ever received a valentine’s day note. It’s not something we celebrate where I am from, but I think, even if we did, I probably wouldn’t have received anything anyway.

I asked miss Botan, and she said it is customary for men in her world to return the favour one month later on March 14th. It’s called White Day because men were initially expected to give girls white chocolate in return for their valentine's day gifts. I don't have any white chocolate, but I still wanted to take this chance to return your valentine’s day card and wish you a Happy White Day. I want you to know you are one of the kindest people I have met in this place and I hope you’ll find everything you’ve been looking for here.

Also, if I may be honest for a moment, I enjoyed getting the chance to write this letter to you. I’ve always watched other trainees write letters home to their families, but mine died before I joined the corps. It’s nice to finally have someone to write a letter to as well. I know this probably just sounds silly to you...

I hope you'll be able to join us on the Sevii Islands some time. The ocean and the beach are amazing here. Sometimes the water is so clear you can see the schools of luvdisc right from the shore. Apparently if you learn to do something called snorkling, you can actually go underneath the water and see them up close. We are also planning on visiting the other islands. Perhaps we should visit the ice-covered one first, while we are still somewhat used to the cold and snow, but I'm not sure if I can convince the others to head out into the cold again.

Hope to see you soon,
Armin

Okay.
We could try having a picnic, too. I know friends do that.
I can make lots of different snacks.

[Just don't...ask her to make a main course...]
rosehecate: (Is that right?)

[personal profile] rosehecate 2017-03-16 12:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, it's very fun!
I used to eat lunch outside with my very best friend whenever the weather was nice. We would always have a good time.
Those times were the happiest I'd had in a long while.

I think we should definitely try to have a picnic soon, then. Maybe not right away. It's been cold.

Walter immediately regretted asking the question. He drew his hands close to himself, as if trying to make himself smaller. The growl from Skagbait didn't help - he half expected him to lunge at him, despite working on his fear of dogs and his experience with a gentle Riolu. He breathed in, clasping his hands together.

"I've told others about my past. About the things that have happened to me. And they've been telling me that it was wrong, even when they've had similar lives. And. I wanted to know about you. I hope you haven't had a life like mine." He explained quietly. Reed looked up and fluttered to his arm, cooing softly. Walter lowered his gaze, lifting a hand to pet Reed and focus on the feel of his feathers.
rosehecate: (Windy!)

[personal profile] rosehecate 2017-03-17 12:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, yes! We should go there.
I have been there once, but I plan to go a lot more when the weather is better.
I'm curious to see all the plants in bloom and how the Pokemon interact with them.

[ Walter stayed focused on Reed. He took a few breaths, gathering up the courage. He kept his voice low and soft. ]

I grew up in an orphanage run by the Order, in the woods of a place called Silent Hill. We were never meant to go far. The guards would hit us if we went too far into the woods or towards the town, even if we had God's permission.

When we were bad, or had said our prayers wrong, or...or if it would please God, we would be sent to the Water Prison. I hated it there. I hated it so much...but if it pleased God, I would put up with it. [ He began to stroke Reed's wings. Reed allowed it, even spreading a wing for Walter to brush his fingers over the underside. ]

I was six the first time I was sent there. The cells were small and damp and cold, with grey walls and iron doors. They were always watching. The guards, from a small hole in the wall. They wouldn't let us out for days. For anything; for food or water. [ He was half there again, trapped in a small, horrid cell, so small and weak. The other half of him was entirely focused on his Pokemon, as a tether out of his thoughts. ] Not everyone would come back from the prison.

I- I thought it was how life was. But people have been saying it shouldn't have been t-that way. [ The words were catching in his throat, so he stopped there. He took more deep breaths. Thankfully Reed had come to know Walter's 'moments' like this and fluttered closer, cooing and pressing his head under Walter's chin. ]
rosehecate: (Did you mean it?)

[personal profile] rosehecate 2017-03-18 02:32 pm (UTC)(link)
So would I!
Taking care of a rose garden was part of my daily routine back home. Though it wasn't always happy inside, it was comforting to do so.
Seeing lots of plants thriving outdoors will be a nice change.

I haven't. What's an Oricorio?
rosehecate: (Ready to go?)

[personal profile] rosehecate 2017-03-20 01:00 pm (UTC)(link)
I have. But, I don't have much room to do it, and if I'm going anywhere, I can't carry a garden with me.
I plan to get seeds from that flower shop, though! Just in case.

Oh my, how interesting! I would like to see these Oricorio. Maybe I'll go looking for them when the weather is better.
